MOONDROP's first products, released soon after the foundation of the company, were a series of earbuds.
Driving the choice of this form factor was the awareness that there were no satisfactory earbuds on the market.
The pinnacle of this development was the flagship Liebesleid released in 2017. This breakthrough product not only demonstrated the potential of earbuds but also sparked a trend in high-end that continues to this day.

Polyester Flexible Suspension Composite Diaphragm
The cone-and-dome structure of the U-2 is made from the same compressed pulp paper material used in professional speakers, a material that exhibits high rigidity and high internal resistance. Furthermore, the U-2 adopts the same "suspension-cone-dome" diaphragm structure found in full-frequency speaker drivers. This, combined with a flexible suspension compound, delivers a full-frequency response range far beyond that of ordinary earbuds and a smoother and more balanced three-frequency distribution, resulting in fine details and smooth natural timbre.
Equipped with a N52 magnetic circuit and CCAW lightweight voice-coil wire, the 14.8mm diameter dynamic driver combines wearing comfort with exceptional performance. The efficient design and mature tuning delivers a punchy bass, low distortion, full dynamics, fast treble response, rich details, and natural extension.
Paying homage to the pioneering acoustic designs of classic products of over 30 years ago, the structure is optimized and improved on the basis of modern manufacturing technology, optimizing the resonance effect of the brass tube on timbre, and the effect of air viscosity damping on the bass, producing a unique sound texture without the need for sponge covers, and bringing out the full potential of the bass.
U-2 uses twisted-pair silver-plated cable to ensure reliable transmission of audio signals.
The 3.5mm standard single-ended plug is compatible with mainstream audio output devices.
In 2014, the start-up acoustic team of MOONDROP's R&D laboratory began development and tuning of earbuds. From the V5 to the VX, and then to the flagship model, a rich store of invaluable tuning experience was
accumulated.
At the same time, MOONDROP pursued the development of a wide variety of transducers and headphones, including multi-driver balanced armatures, dynamic drivers, planars and electrostatics. In doing so, MOONDROP established a firm practical and theoretical electroacoustic foundation, and a solid hardware and software infrastructure unmatched by manufacturers of ordinary earbuds.
Making use of the acclaimed B&K5128 measurement rig, with its accurate ear canal and auricle simulation, performance can be verified, and repeated subjective listening and tuning by experienced acoustic engineers has resulted in an exceptional sound that will delight discerning music lovers.
